Cancellation policy

New from 2023:

Our apartments and holiday homes can be canceled free of charge up to 8 weeks before arrival.

In this case, the deposit will be retained.

​

50% of the invoice amount is due if a booking is canceled with a travel start date of less than 8 weeks. The deposit will be credited

​

80 % of the invoice amount is due if a booking is canceled with a travel start date of less than 1 week The deposit will be credited

​

If a guest cancels on the day of arrival or on the day before the day of arrival, 100% of the invoice amount will be charged with a cancellation fee. The deposit will be credited

"Book without risk"

Special cancellation conditions in the event of force majeure and Covid 19 pandemic


For the holidays since 2020, flexibility and security are paramount. With Don Genaro you can plan and rebook flexibly with the "Book without risk" feature

Don Genaro will reimburse you 100% of your travel amount in the event that:

  • that the flight area over Curacao is closed and that your airline cannot operate the flight on the day of your arrival.

  • that the flight area over Germany, Austria, Switzerland or the Netherlands is closed and your airline cannot operate the flight on the day of your arrival.

  • that one of the travel participants receives a positive PCR test result before departure and therefore cannot travel.

If after full payment of the travel amount (i.e. 4 weeks before your trip start) the situation on Curacao is so limited due to Corona that this would significantly limit your vacation, it is possible to complete the entire trip free of charge up to 3 days before your arrival within the next Postpone 12 months. Significantly restricted means: if the beaches weren't open, the restaurants would close before 9 p.m. and / or if it wasn't possible to drive a rental car every day.

For a postponement, we only need a new travel period from you, which has the same travel duration and / or the same invoice amount as your originally booked trip. In that case we will simply move your trip in our booking calendar and you will not lose any money.

If travel is still not possible for you (objectively and subjectively) within these extended 12 months, we will retain the deposit or processing fee of 150 euros per person (maximum, however, 300 euros) and you will receive a travel voucher from us for the remainder of the booked trip, which you can use for another 12 months.

This gives you a total of 2 years to make your journey a reality.

In all other cases - i.e. not due to Corona - our normal booking and cancellation conditions apply.

That means we ask you - as contractually agreed in your booking - to transfer the remaining payment of your trip no later than 4 weeks before arrival.

If you cancel for other / personal reasons, the normal cancellation fees apply. In this case, we will keep the 300 euro deposit as a processing fee and you will receive a cancellation invoice from us in accordance with our cancellation conditions, see below.

We strongly recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance and a Corona letter of protection.
